Chiefly papers of Joseph Bringhurst, including correspondence and diary entries (some copies, 1776-1820) relating to John Dickinson, minutes of a Wilmington group of manufacturers working for a protective tariff (1815-1816), and letters (1819-1820) about the Missouri Compromise from William Darlington and James Wilson, U.S. representatives; papers (1908-1913) of Frederick Bringhurst, chiefly include household accounts and a few family documents; and records of E. Bringhurst & Co., including 108 bills for stock and other services for a drugstore (1809).
